What does Mulan, Hercules, The Princess & The Frog, and Enchanted have in common? Yes, they are all Disney movies, but there is something else that tie them together. Her name is Emily. She is celebrating her first birthday at the studio today by having some portraits made.

Both relationship style and formal portraits were taken to remember this precious time in her life. Through the years, we have found that children at this age have unique mannerisms and there are a few tricks to the trade that we have found to work well.

1. Children's songs such as the ABC's, and Happy Birthday are appealing to the little tikes.

2. Children's games such as patty-cake and ring-around-the-rosie are sure winners to get some participation from the kiddos.

3. Loony tunes type noises are golden. They may be crazy and a little awkward, but the "pop", "splat", "bam", "boom", "pow", and a sneeze can really help a little one snap out of a upcoming tantrum.

4. The secret weapon - the parents. Parents spend the most time with their children and on the rare occasion, they can perform a simple act like a fake hickup that will get a toddler giddy with laughter.
